JERSEY CHILD ABUSE COVER-UP: ANOTHER SNAPSHOT OF WHY YOUR CHILDREN STILL AREN'T SAFE

The (last?) Bald Truth shows just how necessary it is to take the battle to a different arena...

If my experience of giving a first session of evidence to lawyers from the Committee of Inquiry's legal team and events taking place during this week's question time in the States confirmed one key thing for me it really was that my decision to put the Bald Truth blog into cold storage - quite possibly even for good - and focus on opportunities at a wholly different, international level not yet undertaken by anyone really must be the right one.

Yes, okay I acknowledge the key Jersey political blogs are now far, far bigger and more widely read than they were four or five years ago. But I also believe something new just has to be done to try and help them and justice along. And it now seems the opportunity is mine to try and do this...

But let's take a good, hard look back at the truly shocking facts unveiled in  yesterday's States Sitting with a question put to the Health Minister.

Here the man who is currently the best Jersey politician by a country mile, Deputy Mike Higgins was trying once again to get some 'bald truth' out of Jersey's Health Minister. This personage is one Trinity Deputy, Anne Pryke should you be one of the apparent Island majority who have absolutely no idea who this very 'senior politician' in charge of the costliest and most essential department is.

Deputy Higgins was asking Pryke about a child protection case to which I have alluded previously and one which I had subsequently passed on to him upon my leaving the States earlier this year. Indeed, a case which is so shocking that if the mainstream (State) media only reported it (they won't of course - dog poo, too many rocks on the beach and needing to keep their Establishment chums looking good for the election are far more important!) said facts really should have all good parents/professionals rioting out on our streets - let alone finally voting our corrupt Establishment Party out of power.

Not just hearsay - a six hour long colour video!

Now I have to be very careful here because having done so much painstaking work with the rightly concerned complainant in the hope of securing justice and accountability I really cannot say all that I would like to: protecting the identity of the children involved being absolutely paramount as readers will understand. Suffice to say that what came out as a consequence of Deputy Higgins' questioning of the Health Minister is simply jaw-dropping even outlined in the sketchiest of fashions. In fact truth be told it is actually terrifying.

You see according to an individual Deputy Higgins described as the Head of Children's Services it can now be reported here that; apparently being presented with a SIX HOUR video - not to mention SELECTED STILLS  - showing a couple of adults choosing to initiate oral sex where a young toddler is not only present but is physically being held so close to 'the action' by the male and in such a fashion as to render the child what most right-minded people (I believe) would surely view as a deliberate prop  or possibly even sexual stimulant does NOT immediately set child protection alarm bells ringing at the top of the Island's Health & Social Services Department!

Can this really be true?

Well, yes I'm afraid it can because though Health Minister Pryke was doing her usual best to waffle, time waste and plead ignorance to avoid giving an answer that might come back to haunt her I can confirm here that Deputy Pryke herself sat through a FOUR HOUR meeting at the Hospital which I had arranged on behalf of the complainant where all of this was spelt out for her in most graphic detail.

A meeting I should point out where the Minister was not only able to again see said stills and hear first hand of the complainant's and my own concerns - but to which she was also accompanied by two very senior members of her  own Health team very familiar with the details of the case. These being Mr Pointon and Mr Jouault. Hopefully, of course, unless things are even more lax at Health than even I and Deputy Higgins already believe this meeting surely should be officially minuted: and these facts can thus be confirmed?

One thing is for certain: I am happy to testify to the above wherever necessary.

For let us be quite clear: this was not a case of a naïve and immature young couple forced by hard economic circumstance to risk initiating intimacy in cramped, one room accommodation. This activity; its manner and location was a matter of evidenced conscious choice.

The consequence of both Health and Police 'professionals' refusing to admit that they were wrong and thus be held accountable was that highly damaging decisions were subsequently made in Jersey's courts. All I really need to say for now I believe to demonstrate once again that whilst most of the time servers and wannabes masquerading as States Members don't want to know Jersey's children are as vulnerable now as ever they were.

I thus repeat nothing - but NOTHING - has been learnt since Haut de la Garenne. And until professionals, Ministers, Judges, Attorney Generals or whoever who are responsible for such failings are finally held to account nothing - but NOTHING - will ever change. Shoot the messenger once again if you like but the truth of what I say - and what Deputy Higgins reported yesterday - is absolute.

Oh yes...and just in case any reader is still in any doubt on this one: the senior police officer charged with examining a copy of the video had apparently just passed it on to a more junior colleague. A junior colleague who we must also surmise either has judgment as flawed as those ,professionals' up at Health; or who simply just got bored and didn't watch it all the way through to the important bits. You see the police report didn't think what was revealed was a child protection concern either....

Could you make it up? Probably not. But this I'm afraid is Jersey in the 21st Century.

Keep the Faith

As for me - having already given several hours of evidence on a wide variety of material I have a second session of evidence to give the Committee of Inquiry very soon. Then, unless the Birts and Bailhaches of this world manipulate things to somehow prevent it, I have further promised that I am happy - and indeed wish - to then give my evidence and be questioned on all and any of it in public.

But once this is completed I have no shame in saying I really do have to finally take a step back to pursue the opportunities arising to change things via routes and mediums not yet tried. The battle will go on as before - just on a different battlefield so to speak. I'm actually really looking forward to it no matter where its course may take me!

Finally, I thus wish all of those wronged and abused - and likewise those who have bravely fought so hard for them - strength and the very best of luck. Remember: if you are reading this and you don't do justice - in Neo-Feudal Jersey 'justice' will certainly do you....

Take care

Trevor

  1. Anne Pryke can be heard playing dumb on this subject at the start of the BBC audio stored for prosperity by TJW, (last one of six) :

Deputy Higgins is left speechless, virtually.

Why was this vacuous establishment bimbo put in charge of the most expensive and important government department with a role including responsibility for child protection.........

  2. Good on you, Trevor.

If you are to stop regular blogging and pursue justice via other avenues, you might just consider leaving the blog open and doing the odd 3 or 6 monthly report on how you are getting on.

People can set up to be notified of posts and the blog in the meantime will stay right where it is.

It would be a pity to lose touch with your progress, but it is understandable that regular and frequent blogging is very demanding, particularly where posts are considered ones and evoke multiple responses.

Your efforts to date are, I'm sure, appreciated by the many concerned with achieving some semblance of justice in the Jersey system.

Keep the faith yourself, and Shona.

  3. I've heard a shocking rumour that you are one of the nine people being presently investigated over cyber bullying, and that you may have been served with a harassment notice. Please tell us that isn't true, and isn't a factor in your decision to cease blogging ? We need your help now more than ever.

    1. LOL! No I have not ben hit with or even approached by our boys in blue. Indeed, I wish I would be because I could then go to court with the evidence of other multiple victims of Jonnie Trolls abuse and highlight how every word Deputy Mike Higgins said in the States is true.

Even more important highlight how victims of this cowardly scumbag - or should I say survivors - have been left no other recourse than to highlight what our Jonnie does because senior police, Data Protection and our illustrious Attorney General do not do their jobs and - quite possibly as the fruitcake claims - even protect him.

After all, wouldn't look to good for these folk if they had to take to court a thug they gave taxpayers' money to so he could accuse former Senator Syvret of bullying and smearing him, now would it!

Anyway, just to put your mind at rest I quite possibly will still put up a blog should the urge arise. And no one but no one would ever stop me.

AS it happens in talking about trolling cyber bullies I should point out to Zoompad that I have just had a comment attributed to you which I am pretty sure is not you at all. Given your own history/experience with the nutter maybe you should ensure your account is safe.

    1. Put simply just that if things are to change - and let's face it they are pretty dire and entrenched now and will likely get worse after the election - we need to have someone do something different. Something on a bigger scale if you like.

This is not to demean the blogs - those like mine, Voice, Rico's, Stuart's, Jersey Way etc are the key reason we have got the fight for justice for victims of both abuse and our Jersey 'justice' system this far.

Fact is however that I have the ability to undertake this avenue of bringing about change and I also need to work following our politically manipulated removal from being a voice in the States Assembly.

I'm actually quite looking forward to it and when the right time comes will obviously say a lot more. Maybe even in a blog!

  5. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT STOP BLOGGING! OR AT THE LEAST LET US KNOW YOU WILL KEEP UP THE FIGHT YOU HAVE DONE SO MUCH FOR. THANKS.

    1. Think I have done that already. And the thanks aren't necessary - just doing what all of those in political circles should do - even if we are/were a minority in Jersey's version of government. Someone has to stand up for victims and for what is right and rest assured I will always do that, whatever medium I use.

  6. What you highlight here is truly shocking but also very depressing. How many times have we been told that lessons have been learned, that now we must all move on because things have changed? What your posting and Deputy Higgins' questions in the States confirm is that, just as you say, nothing has changed at all. PS I also agree Deputy Higgins is excellent and now seemingly fighting a one man war whilst those we might have also expected to stand up for justice have gone AWOL.

    1. Shocking it should be. But will anyone in authority do anything about it? No, of course not.

Indeed, you really have to ask where our Lieutenant-Governor is on such occasions - after all he is responsible for ensuring 'good governance' and 'law and order' is maintained on behalf of the Queen.

Then again, when have Lieutenant-Governors EVER done anything to stamp out the corruption in the Bailiffs' courts down the ages?

They never have and that it is why Birt and Bailhache before him can still get away with allowing a man (John Le Breton) who turned a blind eye to evidence of child abuse abominations carried out by his chum (Andrew Jervis-Dykes) to sit as a Jurat.

What has happened in the case I highlight should see Pryke sacked immediately and at least one of her senior officers sacked with her.

As for the police failings...I'll leave that for Deputy Higgins and the complainant to pursue. Hey...perhaps they should get in touch with the Lieutenant-Governor about it all?

  8. Just a last thought for the evening - England's latest non-event in Brazil has me wanting to go to bed - but my stalker, Jon the Troll seems to be taking my talk of a break from blogging very hard indeed.

Just today he has sent rafts of his particularly embittered and deranged rants through as posts. The poor loon knows I won't bother publishing his abuse but even then... if anyone should bump into the abusive old bully please ask if he is ok and tell him to lay off the Stella!.

I know that I am being overly generous in this but I just can't help myself: you see Shona and I have become central to his empty life; what with his writing reams of what he thinks is anonymous abuse under fake avatars on the net and equally laughable letters to everyone from PPC to the police and even failed Electoral Commission!

Without me here I'm not sure how the old fruitcake will cope and really don't want him taking out his hate on some vulnerable person.

    Thanks.

  9. Odd how the likes of the Jersey Evening Propaganda, Channel and hate-site promoter Gripton's BBC never stopped going on about HDLG in their efforts to try and discredit the abuse cover up, yet have no lead stories on this? Seems to me the Jersey media are wholly complicit in the culture of the Jersey way cover ups that go on. Whatever happened to proper journalism boys and girls? Our media makes me sick.

    ReplyDelete
  10. If this story is true and I can't see how it would not be I have two questions.

1: Why aren't the media all over it demanding answers from Health and the police?

2: Why hasn't Minister Pryke put out a press statement denying or explaining it all?

    We need answers.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The most disturbing aspect of all of this must be that it reveals health professionals to have seriously flawed judgment and the police apparently do not even bother to examine evidence of potential child abuse thoroughly. Given that we currently have a child abuse enquiry taking place into decades of failings how much more serious can it get?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Jersey's record on child protection failures and child abuse cover ups is probably the only record more desperate than the England football team's at major tournaments.

In fact I am pretty sure that is correct because I recall Senator Ozouf oncesaying to a couple of us - so this was witnessed - 'how do you think I felt having him working in MY department given all that happened at Victoria College?!'

As I said to him at the time: 'so why didn't you speak out?' A question that remains just as valid today as it did then.

  14. The problem is no one actually cares. Unless it has happened to you or a close relatives. People just sit back and do nothing. The way I see it civil servants and the very people in our judicial should be protecting these people. They are not. You have to ask yourself wtf is going on. We are talking about serial abusers. It does not matter where these people come from that enter the civil service as they enter the pre-existing paradigm of doing nothing and covering up using thick piled carpets sipping on their tea. It is sad that anyone such as yourselves and countless others have aimlessly battled to provide a better Jersey keep getting shutdown. The freemason network is largely to blame as JFK once highlighted.

When is everyone going to wake up and make the stand. The way I see it until Jersey fails to elect all of its politicians nothing will change. No wonder our Chief Minister bought the treason law as what is clearly needed is a huge shake up. You have the police promoting domestic abuse and yet do nothing about the abusers that are sitting pretty in our government. it makes you wonder. An independent inquiry of child abuse. Really, more than likely going to be controlled by our flawed judicial system. No one sees justice and there is no natural justice. It makes you think. What is the Governor doing about all of this. Nothing... if I had a child that was invited to his house for tea. No way would I take them to sit in his company.

    1. When will people 'make the stand'?

Probably not until they get shaken out of their complacency and begin to question/demand change and accountability by some of these abuses happening to them or their children.

Sadly I personally believe that by the time enough do wake up and open their eyes; or in the case of even more - find the courage to stand up - it will likely be when things are past saving.

As the old saying goes however: people make their bed so then they have to lie in it. Just pleased that I have always stood up for justice no matter what the cost.

Occasionally fun to go in to rattle the troll-cages but just a joke as a news outlet.

  20. Re JEP comments anon you are right, but have you also noticed how a difficult story sometimes appears, loads of pro establishment comments get through the moderators first of all and then as soon as you start to get some interesting anti pro establishment ones getting to the real issues appearing, comments are suspended and removed. Its happened to me on many an occasion, sometimes before and sometimes after my comments. Now wouldn't it be interesting to be a fly on the wall at the JEP watching the discussion and thought process that goes on when moderating. Anyone know who actually does this?

I've tried to ditch the JEP but my wife keeps buying it despite my protestations. Still I've got her habit down to about three to four times a week and working on weaning her off completely.

    1. You have my sympathy. I have heard that regularly buying the Jersey Evening Pravda is soon to be recognised as an illness which may enable the sufferer (or his or her loved ones) to claim financial support to have their illness treated?

Perhaps if true your poor wife might qualify?

Sadly this avenue did not come soon enough for me as the 'newspaper' (the favoured read of the Nazi leadership during the Occupation apparently - although some sources claim many felt it to far to the Right?) proved very bad for both my health and bank balance.

Fortunately, I am about to initiate treatment and cure with a very nice Doctor Strasbourg!

  22. The comments forum of both the JEP and Channel TV are very suspicious in that they both invite comments for some topics but not others, usually the more contentious. And as stated above, many comments are filtered out. I have personally made statements which are critical of Bailache and the law officers. Statements which I have constructed to be subjective but fair, polite and business like, are still subject to censorship.

  31. Having intended winding up blogging as I told readers, as Tweeted today, I have decided that approaches from two professionals within key Jersey industries to front a joint new venture is something that is worth getting excited about.

Similarly all of the people who have asked me not stop in light of the on-going COI, forthcoming election and the terrible cyber abuse of vulnerable people which the police leadership and AG are continuing to let one petty convict hater get away.

Thus why there are lots of things in the pipeline which had contributed to my earlier intended decision - including an overseas possibility I think the chance to work with two professionals who actually work 'inside the beast' so to speak is something worth doing.

So, apologies for my not updating the blog and all comments as I should have, and hope to get something up in the next week or two on here to advise people full details of the venture and when it will start.
